Yamaha's TDR250 was a road-biased dual-purpose two-stroke twin built on a TZR250-derived YPVS engine with a lower first gear and a tall, rigid double-cradle frame. It was meant as a fun all-surface machine rather than a racer replica, with a tank-top headlamp fairing and an air-assisted front fork. A smaller 240 cc version was sold in France.
